Adam heads the property investment activities of Mackersy Property and is primarily focused on the acquisition and syndication of commercial property. This includes overseeing the initial acquisition process, the legal due diligence process and negotiating attractive finance and lease terms. Adam is also a Director of Mackersy Legal along with a number of private companies and provides expert advice and guidance to the management team.
He has significant knowledge of resource management, property law, finance and development projects, along with experience advising a wide range of clients and entities. He holds Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Science degrees as well as a Masters in International Business and Law.
Hamish is responsible for the overall strategic management of assets under management at Mackersy Property. This includes working with all tenants, funders, investors and stakeholders to ensure that our assets are performing to their potential. With 15 years’ experience as a commercial property, development and construction lawyer, Hamish also assists the acquisition team and takes a strategic, logical and practical approach to ensure that our assets and investors needs are looked after.
Hamish is also a Director of Mackersy Legal along with a number of private companies and not for profit organisations. He holds Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Science degrees.
Tess works across both the Mackersy Property and Mackersy Legal businesses with a focus on operational efficiencies and continual improvement. She provides mentoring, training and professional development opportunities for the team. As a former partner of Mitchell Mackersy Lawyers for 21 years (the predecessor to Mackersy Property), Tess has significant business experience in private client business law, property law, Trusts and estates.
Over the course of her career Tess has engendered the trust and confidence of a large number of clients, investors, referrers and stakeholders.
Dale is based in Mackersy Property’s Christchurch office and oversees the management of the company’s large commercial property portfolio throughout New Zealand. Among his key responsibilities are ensuring the company delivers its property management services on time, within budget and to the highest quality standard.
Dale’s areas of focus include maintaining strong relationships with directors of the syndicate-owned properties in Mackersy Property’s portfolio. He has a decision-making role on high-level management matters and is also responsible for inducting new acquisitions into the management portfolio. Dale is also responsible for the company’s professional team of property and facilities management staff based in four locations throughout New Zealand.
As a highly experienced property management professional, Dale places particular emphasis on the importance of building positive working relationships. He maintains an extensive network of contacts throughout the industry, which adds significant value to Mackersy Property and its stakeholders.
Prior to joining Mackersy Property in 2011, Dale built a strong background in the property industry. This included managing the Church of England’s large commercial property portfolio across the London Diocese. He is an associate of the Real Estate Institute of New Zealand and the New Zealand Institute of Management.
Omea heads the Investment Operations team for Mackersy Property. She is responsible for presenting new commercial property investment opportunities to investors with a focus on continual improvement, detailed investment memoranda on each investment, which forms a key part of investors’ due diligence and leading the investor relations team, communications, investment administration team and divestments.
Omea is an experienced professional investor relations manager in the commercial property sector. She has extensive legal experience working in a dynamic legal practice environment for over 20 years. She has completed a BSc and MBA at Otago University, is an independent director on a small number of Mackersy Property investments and a trustee of a not-for-profit organisation in Tauranga.
As consultant to Mackersy Property, Ron is closely involved with the property syndication business, including assisting with the identification and evaluation of new investment opportunities, negotiating acquisitions and mentoring team members.
Ron founded Mitchell Mackersy Lawyers’ commercial property syndication business in the mid 1990s, which continues today under Mackersy Property. Prior to that he forged a successful career as in the legal and business arenas spanning several decades. He is highly regarded as an astute legal and business professional and a trusted advisor to his loyal client base, as well as to a great number of his staff and personal contacts.
Mick provides expert financial modelling, debt structuring and treasury advice to Mackersy Property. His role forms a crucial part of the company’s property syndication business, including robust financial analysis of the tenants which occupy properties being considered for syndication. He also negotiates attractive funding packages for new and existing commercial property syndicates.
Mick brings 10 years’ experience in the finance industry to Mackersy Property. His career encompasses commercial banking, private wealth, foreign exchange and international finance.
Kate is primarily responsible for investor relations and communication to Mackersy Property investors. Her attention to detail and continual improvement strategies are integral in the planning, compiling and distributing of regular communication, as well as producing external newsletters and managing client and investor events. Kate works closely with all team members of business to ensure that all parts of Mackersy Property are moving forward together.
Kate is based in the Dunedin office. Prior to joining the company in August 2017, she worked as an Emergency Nurse in Australia for several years. She has recently completed a post-graduate diploma in business with a focus on communication.
Marianne ensures the delivery of information to investors is accurate and timely, including communication during the application process, ensuring compliance and eligibility requirements are met in accordance with the Financial Markets Conduct Act and the Anti-Money Laundering and Countering Financing of Terrorism Act. Marianne is diligent, efficient and effective at her communication back to investors being an integral and key player in Mackersy Property’s investor relations team.
Kay provides accounting expertise to Mackersy Property assisting with the management of financial transactions as well as overseeing compliance matters in relation to the Anti-Money Laundering and Countering Financing of Terrorism Act. She is responsible for managing and reconciling investor funds ensuring settlement of future properties are completed in a timely manner and is involved in Mackersy Property construction-funded projects ensuring the flow of funds from developers/contractors and investors are completed in a seamless manner.
Kay is an integral part of the Mackersy Property team, with significant trust account experience and banking experience having worked in the banking industry for many years.
Jenna is Executive Assistant to Omea Willows, director of Mackersy Property. Her role forms part of the investor relations team assisting with share and unit sales. Jenna co-ordinates communication between investors, property managers and directors during any share or unit sale process to ensure all stakeholders remain informed. She brings with her a wealth of knowledge in processes and systems driving continuous improvement within the Mackersy Property team. Jenna brings a fresh methodical approach to the team, having joined in early 2020 after working as an Executive Assistant in Auckland to Spark directors.
Fiona is an integral part of Mackersy Property’s Investment Team. As an investment administrator, she coordinates communication with investors during the application process ensuring compliance and eligibility requirements are met in accordance with the Financial Markets Conduct Act and the Anti-Money Laundering and Countering Financing of Terrorism Act. Fiona has a strong background in various recruitment, sales and administration roles in Ireland, San Francisco and Queenstown before joining the Mackersy Property team in August 2020.
Tim has recently joined Mackersy Property’s Investment Team in our Queenstown office. After many successful years working with Colliers as a Commercial Broker, Tim brings a wealth of experience in lease negotiation and investment sales. Tim will continue utilising his skills across Mackersy Property’s portfolio throughout New Zealand.
Tim holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Otago and a Post Graduate Diploma in Valuation from Lincoln University.
Kirita joined Mackersy Property’s Christchurch office in April 2016. Her role as Property Management Team Leader includes providing mentorship and guidance to Mackersy Property’s team of property managers; development of the property management team and assistance in learning & development programmes for property managers, especially for newer members of the team.
She is also responsible for the property management of several key assets in Mackersy Property’s nationwide portfolio, including the TrustPower headquarters in Tauranga, Spark Central on Willis St, Wellington and the IAG building in Show Place, Christchurch.
Kirita has nearly 20 years’ experience in the property industry, encompassing property management and other roles in the commercial, residential and government sectors. She has a passion for property and has built a reputation for an efficient, customer-focused approach, forming strong working relationships based on trust and delivering on agreed targets.
Gwynn heads the Facilities Management team and is responsible for leading the team of facilities managers, including overseeing maintenance and capital upgrades on the buildings in Mackersy Property’s large nationwide management portfolio.
Gwynn’s role, supported by Mackersy Property’s growing national facilities management team, gives the company close oversight of maintenance and compliance requirements across the portfolio. This is crucial in order to ensure all assets are operating as efficiently as possible for their investor owners, as well as ensuring they remain compliant with all regulations. Gwynn and his team’s work manage the financial impact to owners by closely monitoring preventative maintenance and capital upgrades to properties.
Among Gwynn’s responsibilities are providing detailed condition reports on buildings, as well as drafting and managing long-term maintenance plans for key assets in the portfolio.
Gwynn is a Building Surveyor, Project Manager and Quantity Surveyor who previously worked with Mackersy Property for over three years as an independent contractor. He brings a highly technical background in facilities management to the role.
Anita is responsible for the health and safety aspects of the Mackersy Property portfolio.
Her role is crucial to Mackersy Property, by overseeing 200 contractors working on Mackersy Property sites throughout the country. She is responsible for pre-qualification analysis, undertaking annual reviews ensuring any person working on a Mackersy Property-managed site is compliant with health and safety regulations and is a leader in best-practice health and safety.
Anita is also responsible for assisting Building Warrants of Fitness (BWOF) matters. The project component of Anita’s role involves managing any work undertaken on properties that fall outside day-to-day facilities and property management, such as building refurbishments, extensions or upgrades.
Anita has built an extensive career in the local government sector, working in various finance and property-related areas within Dunedin City Council.
Sonia joined Mackersy Property’s Christchurch office in March 2017. She manages a portfolio of key properties around the country. These include several large, multi-tenanted commercial assets – Show Place Business Park, Christchurch, and the EntX Entertainment Central (Hoyts cinema and hospitality development in Christchurch CBD). She also manages several large-scale industrial properties.
Among her areas of expertise is the management of large complexes with multiple tenants, with her experience in this area equipping her with the skills required to manage some of the flagship assets in Mackersy Property’s portfolio.
Sonia places high importance on good customer relations and delivering a consistently professional standard of service and has over 10 years’ experience in commercial property and asset management gained in Auckland and Christchurch. She holds a Bachelor of Property (Valuation and Property Management) from The University of Auckland.
Emily manages several retail complexes and office buildings in Queenstown’s fast-growing Frankton commercial precinct. These larger-scale assets, with multiple tenants, require well-honed management skills and experience to ensure they continue to perform optimally for their investor owners.
As team leader in the Queenstown office, Emily oversees the activities of Mackersy Property’s local team of property and facilities managers supporting the learning and development of new staff. Prior to joining Mackersy Property, Emily spent six years working for Stride Property Limited in a support role to the Centre Manager at Remarkables Park Town Centre in Queenstown.
Penny joined Mackersy Property’s Christchurch office in 2012. She manages a large portfolio of over 50 commercial and industrial investment properties around New Zealand. This requires significant skills and expertise to oversee a large number of leases, as well as build effective working relationships with tenants.
Prior to joining Mackersy Property, Penny worked in real estate administration and has also worked in property investment with Ngāi Tahu Property. She has outstanding attention to detail, a wide range of experience and a comprehensive understanding of the real estate industry, as well as effective communication skills.
Lisa is responsible for managing some of Mackersy Property’s key retail and commercial investment properties in Frankton and central Queenstown, as well as several commercial and industrial properties in Invercargill.
In addition to her Invercargill property management portfolio, Lisa is the Centre Manager for a new purpose built complex in Invercargill, which features a new Kmart store along with a range of smaller retail and food outlets.
Lisa brings significant experience in customer-oriented service roles to her position, which makes her well-equipped to efficiently handle the many aspects of leasing and property management involved with the investment portfolio.
Yvonne is responsible for property management and tenant relations across Mackersy Property’s large management portfolio in Tauranga, Mt Maunganui and Hamilton.
Yvonne has extensive property valuation experience, where she specialised in providing revaluations for rating purposes in the residential, commercial and industrial sectors. She has also held other property, asset and project management roles in Tauranga.
Yvonne provides strong background in customer service and relationship building. She holds a Bachelor of Business Studies degree in valuation and property management (with a minor in finance) from Massey University.
Aaron recently joined Mackersy Property’s Tauranga office. With an extensive and varied background across the management of commercial assets, commercial real estate and investment banking, Aaron brings a fresh level of expertise in strategy, finance and relationship building. Managing a varied portfolio across the North Island, Aaron has previously served as a Chair on the Eastern Bay Energy Trust and on the Board of the Whakatane District Council, NZ Motion Pictures Association and on the Eastern Bay of Plenty Chamber of Commerce. Aaron holds a Bachelor of Management Studies, is a Chartered Financial Analyst and holds qualifications as an Accredited Advisor for the NZSE and ASIC.
Andrew began employment as an intern with Mackersy Property in July 2019. At the completion of his internship, having impressed the company with his professionalism, aptitude and enthusiasm, Andrew was promoted to Assistant Property Manager. He has become an integral resource and support for our experienced property and facilities managers and continues to collaborate with the management team by assisting in all aspects of property management. Andrew will graduate in early 2021 with a Bachelor of Land and Property Management.
James joined Mackersy Property 2017 as Facilities and Property Manager, based in the company’s Queenstown office.
James is a facilities and property manager for Mackersy Property forming part of the national facilities management team. The facilities management aspect of his role involves arranging routine servicing and maintenance, building inspections and minor projects, as well as ensuring buildings remain compliant. On the property management side, James manages four Mackersy Property buildings in the Queenstown portfolio, one of which is a complex of 15 tenancies.
James studied mathematics and management at Nottingham University, aligning his career into real estate, working as a property manager.
Alisa joined Mackersy Property’s Christchurch office in May 2019 as Facilities Manager, primarily responsible for the facilities management of the flagship HOYTS ‘EntX’ development in Christchurch’s city centre. The building features a seven-screen HOYTS cinema on the upper levels as well as a world-class dining precinct on the ground floor, which is home to several food & beverage operators.
Alisa brings a strong background in facilities management to her role, including seven years as in-house facilities co-ordinator for Vodafone NZ Ltd. Prior to that, she spent six years with TelstraClear as a property services specialist.
Taking pride in delivering a proactive, best-in class support model, Alisa helps enable people to get the best out of their working environment. She also has well-developed skills and experience in RFP processes, stakeholder engagement and project management, all of which are relevant in her role in Mackersy Property’s facilities management team.
Richard joined Mackersy Property’s Christchurch office in March 2019. As well as his Christchurch-based facilities management responsibilities, he also works alongside the Tauranga team on facilities management of the assets in the company’s large Bay of Plenty property portfolio.
Working closely with both Mackersy Property’s facilities management and property management teams, Richard is responsible for managing preventative maintenance on the company’s property management portfolio. His role involves building and maintaining key relationships with tenants, contractors and suppliers; liaising with all parties to address the day-to-day issues that can arise in a large commercial property portfolio.
Richard has a strong track record working in property and asset management in Christchurch and the UK. Over a six-year period in London, he worked for some of the most successful and largest real estate companies in the city.
Jordyn recently joined our Tauranga office as a Facilities Manager. She is responsible for the facilities management of our Tauranga, Mount Maunganui, Auckland and Hastings assets with a key focus on preventative maintenance, compliance and reactive maintenance while building strong relationships with tenants.
Jordyn brings experience to the Mackersy Property after working in commercial property management for a nationwide retail group in Melbourne. She holds a Bachelor of Communication degree and a Diploma in Project Management.
Nick is Mackersy Property’s Finance and Operations Manager, based in the company’s Christchurch office. He oversees the activity of the nationwide finance team and maintains key relationships with banks and other professional services providers.
Nick joined Mackersy Property in 2019 from a New Zealand-based multi-national construction and development company, where he held a senior role in the corporate finance team. He has extensive experience in property asset management, financial management and accounting within the commercial property investment sector in the United Kingdom. He brings strong analytical and communication skills and commercial acumen to Mackersy Property, with a proven ability to deliver meticulous results.
Anita joined Mackersy Property’s Christchurch-based finance team in early 2017, reporting to the Finance & Operations Manager. As well as general Mackersy Property accounts duties, she provides day to day financial support to property managers, reconciles property acquisition settlements, assists with setting up new syndicates and acts as liaison between bank representatives and property managers.
She has significant experience in the accounting field, having worked in accounts roles for several organisations since the early 1990s. She is also experienced in body corporate accounting.
Anna joined Mackersy Property’s Christchurch office in February 2019 as HR Advisor and Executive Assistant. She is responsible for human resources across the business, as well as executive assistant duties for Managing Director Dale Robertson.
As a national player in property syndication and management, with offices in four separate locations, Anna’s management of Mackersy Property’s recruitment and HR functions ensures a robust candidate selection process is in place covering a wide geographical area, followed by a smooth transition into the business for all new team members.
Prior to joining Mackersy Property, Anna was founder, owner and director of an apiary business with over 15 apiaries. This equipped her with highly developed business management skills and experience, including accounts, budgets and developing & maintaining relationships with landowners and other beekeepers. She has also previously worked for Bayleys in the Far North.
Vicky is part of Mackersy Property’s national finance team. As Accounts Administrator she handles various accounting tasks including payables and receivables, budgets, reconciliations and setting up of accounts related to Mackersy Property’s Queenstown property portfolio.
Vicky worked as a property manager for Mackersy Property before moving into the finance team. With eight years’ experience in the tourism industry in various accounts and administration roles, including accounts management positions with Kiwi Discovery, Queenstown Rafting and Cavells Café and Bar, she was responsible for the accounts team and a wide range of accounts and finance-related tasks.
Cindy is executive assistant to Adam Copland and Hamish Wilton, both directors of Mackersy Property. Her responsibilities involve various executive assistant and administration duties and she brings strong business acumen to her role with well-honed skills in people management, sales and customer service.
Cindy has an extensive history in various management, operations and administration roles in the aviation and automotive industries in New Zealand and Australia.
Casey joined the Mackersy Property finance team in late 2020. She oversees the day-to-day accounting functions of a portfolio of syndicates and privately managed properties. Her role assists the Finance & Operations Manager and Accountant.
Casey holds a Bachelor of Commerce and a Graduate Diploma in Chartered Accounting and brings external auditing knowledge and experience to her role.
