Before going into lockdown, the four Mackersy Property offices along with some of our Bay of Plenty investors, pulled on some of their very best boots in support of the Tauranga RDA Boots Day.
Tauranga Riding for the Disabled (RDA) is an incorporated, charitable organisation which was established in 1973. It is one of 54 independent RDA groups within New Zealand. They assist disabled, at-risk and socially disadvantaged people from Tauranga and the Western Bay of Plenty regions by providing equestrian therapy, horse care and equine assisted therapy.
The 15-acre facility located on Ngapeke Road in Welcome Bay, houses an indoor and outdoor arena which is used by the 20 therapy horses and the 5,280 therapy riders each year. The facility has nine part time staff as well as the assistance of more than 120 volunteers.
With the annual care costs (vet, medicine, farrier etc.) costing $20,000 per horse plus feed, coaching costs and equipment, the organisation are always in need of donations.
Mackersy Property were proud to donate a total of $5,246 to the Tauranga RDA from the generous donations made by our investors and staff. We would like to make a special mention to Colliers Bay of Plenty for their munificent donation of $2,500.
We look forward to supporting the RDA in the future!
