Meet The Team

Hamish is responsible for the overall strategic management of assets under management at Mackersy Property. This includes working with all tenants, funders, investors and stakeholders to ensure that our assets are performing to their potential. With 15 years’ experience as a commercial property, development and construction lawyer, Hamish also assists the acquisition team and takes a strategic, logical and practical approach to ensure that our assets and investors needs are looked after.

Hamish is a former Director of Mackersy Legal and current Director of a number of private companies and not for profit organisations. He holds Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Science degrees.

Aaron heads Mackersy Property's Asset Management division and strategically manages a varied portfolio of assets across the North Island.

With an extensive and varied background in managing commercial assets and investment banking, Aaron brings expertise in strategy, finance and relationship building.

Aaron has previously served as the Chair of Trust Horizon, and on the Advisory Board for the Whakatane District Council, NZ Motion Pictures Association, and the Eastern Bay of Plenty Chamber of Commerce. 

He holds a Bachelor of Management Studies, is a Chartered Financial Analyst, and has previously been an Accredited Advisor on the NZX and ASX.

Adam heads the property investment activities of Mackersy Property and is primarily focused on acquiring and syndicating commercial property. His role includes overseeing the initial acquisition process, the legal due diligence process and negotiating attractive finance and lease terms. 

Adam is a former Director of Mackersy Legal and a current Director of a number of private companies. He also provides expert advice and guidance to the management team.

Adam has significant knowledge of resource management, property law, finance and development projects, along with experience advising a wide range of clients and entities. He holds Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Science degrees, as well as a Masters in International Business and Law.

Omea heads the Investor Relations & Operations team for Mackersy Property. She is responsible for presenting new commercial property investment opportunities to investors and leading the investor relations team, communications, investment administration team and divestments. 

An experienced professional investor relations manager in the commercial property sector, Omea has recently completed her NZ Certificate in Financial Services Level 5 (Investment).  She also has extensive legal experience, working in a dynamic legal practice environment for over 20 years. 

Omea has completed a BSc and MBA at Otago University, is an independent director on a small number of Mackersy Property investments, and is a trustee of a not-for-profit organisation in Tauranga.

Andrew Evans has fulfilled various roles with the Mackersy Property Board since May 2021 including as an Independent Advisor, Director and Chair.

Andrew has over 25 years’ of experience in commercial real estate and asset management, having held executive leadership positions in listed and unlisted real estate investment businesses. He is the Chairperson of Accessible Properties NZ Limited and Infinity Investment Group Holdings Limited, a Director of Vital Healthcare Property Trust, Holmes Group Limited, Holmes GP Fire Limited and Trust Investments Management Limited. He is also a former director of Argosy Property Limited.

Andrew’s credentials include being a past National President of the Property Council of New Zealand, a fellow of the New Zealand Property Institute, and a government appointee to the Land Valuation Tribunal. He is a Chartered Fellow of the Institute of Directors of New Zealand and is on the Institute’s Auckland Branch Committee.

Andrew has a Bachelor of Business Studies and MBA (with distinction) from Massey University and a Diploma in Finance from Auckland University.

Andrew brings a wealth of knowledge and experience, ensuring accountability, and providing strategic advice and governance support for the Director group.

As consultant to Mackersy Property, Ron is closely involved with the property syndication business, including assisting with the identification and evaluation of new investment opportunities, negotiating acquisitions and mentoring team members.

Ron founded Mitchell Mackersy Lawyers’ commercial property syndication business in the mid-1990s, which continues today under Mackersy Property. Before that, he forged a successful career as in the legal and business arenas spanning several decades. 

He is highly regarded as an astute legal and business professional and a trusted advisor to his loyal client base, as well as to many of his staff and personal contacts.

Milly is Executive Assistant to Adam Copland, Director of Investment and Transactions. She is a qualified Legal Executive with a background in trust accounting, lease renewal & variation documents, Anti-Money Laundering, Sale and Purchase agreements and a multitude of legal processes and procedures.

Milly holds a Legal Executive Diploma and is a committee volunteer, member and participant of various sporting and recreation facilities around the Queenstown region.

Jenna balances her role leading the Investor Relations team with supporting Omea Willows, Director of Investor Relations & Operations. 

She brings a wealth of knowledge in processes and systems, having an integral role in continuous improvement across all aspects of the investment operations business.

Jenna is also involved in a number of internal special projects, bringing her attention to detail and efficiency to the table. She is an integral part of the business and brings a fresh methodical approach to the team, having joined after working as an Executive Assistant with Spark in Auckland.

Marianne ensures the delivery of information to investors is accurate and timely, including communication during the application process, ensuring compliance and eligibility requirements are met in accordance with the Financial Markets Conduct Act and the Anti-Money Laundering and Countering Financing of Terrorism Act.

Marianne is diligent, efficient and effective as a key conduit with investors, and she is integral to Mackersy Property’s investor relations team.

Following a successful career in marketing and communications across national and international sporting codes, and more recently in a fast-growing professional services firm, Kyla joined the Mackersy Property team in 2022 in this newly established role.

Energetic and customer focussed, Kyla places importance on building relationships while leading and collaborating across all areas of the business. Her whole-picture perspective produces multi-channel communication and marketing strategies which enhance the company’s profile and client experience.

As Marketing & Communications Coordinator, Danielle is based in Mackersy Property's Tauranga office. 

With experience in similar roles over the course of her career, Danielle loves the challenge that comes from creating, researching and developing marketing material. 

With a Bachelor of Communications majoring in Journalism, Danielle has the established skills and expertise to produce quality marketing and communications material across all business areas.

Self-motivated with an enthusiasm for continuous improvement, Jessica contributes her talents to Mackersy Property's investor relations department in Tauranga. 

With an extensive background spanning over five years across both the dental and construction sectors, Jessica's exceptional organisational abilities and adept communication skills uniquely position her to offer essential administrative support to our busy investor relations team.

Michael joined Mackersy Property in 2022 when the company purchased Hamilton property company GBG Management Ltd.

Michael has over 25 years of experience in Asset and Facilities Management. 

He prides himself on building good tenant and contractor relationships to ensure assets are maintained and managed to a high standard.

Following a successful career in commercial property in South Africa, Hannes moved to New Zealand in 2019 where he has been working in Asset Management and Centre Management in the North Island.

In 2022, Hannes moved to Christchurch taking up a newly created position of Asset Manager overseeing Mackersy Property’s portfolio of commercial, retail and industrial buildings. 

A keen problem solver with an analytical aptitude, Hannes confidently manages complex tenant negotiations, financial governance and business strategy.

Emily joined Mackersy Property in 2016 as a Property Manager before moving into the role of Asset Manager in 2023. She manages several retail complexes and office buildings in Queenstown’s fast-growing Frankton commercial precinct. With multiple tenants, these larger-scale assets require well-honed management skills and experience to ensure they continue to perform optimally for their investor owners.

Before joining Mackersy Property, Emily spent six years working for Stride Property Limited in a support role to the Centre Manager at Remarkables Park Town Centre in Queenstown.

As Property Management Team Leader, Kirita heads the team overseeing the day-to-day operational management of the assets in the Mackersy Property portfolio. 

Kirita has over 20 years of experience in the property industry encompassing property management and other commercial, residential and government roles. She has a passion for property and has built a reputation for managing long-lasting relationships with clients and team members based on trust and delivering on agreed targets.

Sonia manages a portfolio of key properties around the country. These include several large, multi-tenanted commercial assets – Show Place Business Park, Christchurch, and the EntX Entertainment Central (Hoyts cinema and hospitality development in Christchurch CBD). She also manages several large-scale industrial properties.

Among her areas of expertise is the management of large complexes with multiple tenants, with her experience in this area equipping her with the skills required to manage some of the flagship assets in Mackersy Property’s portfolio.

Sonia places high importance on good customer relations and delivering a consistently professional standard of service and has over 10 years’ experience in commercial property and asset management gained in Auckland and Christchurch. She holds a Bachelor of Property (Valuation and Property Management) from The University of Auckland.

Penny manages a large portfolio of over 50 commercial and industrial investment properties in the South Island. This requires significant skills and expertise to oversee a large number of leases, as well as build effective working relationships with tenants.

Prior to joining Mackersy Property, Penny worked in real estate administration and has also worked in property investment with Ngāi Tahu Property. She has outstanding attention to detail, a wide range of experience and a comprehensive understanding of the real estate industry, as well as effective communication skills.

Lisa manages some of Mackersy Property’s key retail investment properties located from Invercargill to Dargaville, including several retail complexes. These properties are home to well-known international and national tenants such as The Warehouse, Countdown, Mitre 10, Bunnings, and Kmart. In addition to this, Lisa also manages several privately owned retail and commercial properties in the Queenstown region.

After 17 years as a Buyer for a group of department stores, Lisa brings significant retail experience and relationship-building skills to her role. Lisa’s attention to detail and customer focus makes her well-equipped to efficiently handle the many aspects of leasing and property management involved with the investment portfolio.

After spending the past 15 years in various property industries, including residential and commercial property management, real estate and building, Ryan returned to commercial property management when he joined Mackersy Property. 

His extensive background across all areas of property contributes to his practical approach, sound understanding of property matters and strong business acumen. 

The success of the property management team is strengthened by Ryan’s attention to detail, commitment to excellence and well-developed people skills.

With multiple years of experience in commercial property management across New Zealand and Australia, Saskia is skilled across all aspects of Property Management. Managing a broad range of national and international tenants from all asset classes, including retail, industrial and office, Saskia’s superior communication and negotiation skills ensures favourable outcomes for both tenants and landlords.

Saskia holds a Bachelor of Property from the University of Auckland.

Hayley joined Mackersy Property’s Property Management team following a successful tenure in shopping centre marketing and asset management. Ambitious with a commitment to continued growth, Hayley excels in financial analysis and finds fulfilment in cultivating strong tenant relationships. 

Diligent, approachable and skilled at fostering connections, Hayley has a proven track record of advancing professionally with a dedication to exceptional customer service.

Harry recently completed a Bachelor of Land and Property Manager at Lincoln University and joined Mackersy as an intern at the end of 2022. 

Supporting the busy Facilities Management team and a committed team player with an analytical mindset, Harry successfully juggles a number of responsibilities, providing support to manage Mackersy Property’s extensive portfolio of properties.

As Facilities Management Team Leader, Alisa heads the team coordinating the strategic and operational management of the assets in the Mackersy Property portfolio.  

In addition, Alisa is responsible for the facilities management of the flagship HOYTS ‘EntX’ development in Christchurch’s city centre. The building features a seven-screen HOYTS cinema on the upper levels and a world-class dining precinct on the ground floor, home to several food & beverage operators.

Alisa brings a strong background in facilities management to her role, including seven years as an in-house facilities coordinator for Vodafone NZ Ltd. Prior to that, she spent six years with TelstraClear as a property services specialist.

Taking pride in delivering a proactive, best-in-class support model, Alisa enjoys helping people to get the best out of their working environment. She also has well-developed skills and experience in RFP processes, stakeholder engagement and project management.

James is a facilities manager for Mackersy Property, forming part of the national facilities management team. 

The facilities management aspect of his role involves arranging routine servicing and maintenance, building inspections and minor projects, as well as ensuring buildings remain compliant. On the property management side, James manages four Mackersy Property buildings in the Queenstown portfolio, one of which is a complex of 15 tenancies.

James studied mathematics and management at Nottingham University, aligning his career with real estate, working as a property manager.

Based in Christchurch, Richard is the Facilities Manager for a range of of Mackersy Property's prime office portfolio and industrial assets in the region, along with several larger retail buildings in other parts of New Zealand.

Richard is responsible for managing preventative maintenance on the company’s property management portfolio. His role involves building and maintaining key relationships with tenants, contractors and suppliers; liaising with all parties to address the day-to-day issues that can arise in a large commercial property portfolio.

Richard has a strong track record working in property and asset management in Christchurch and the UK. Over six years in London, he worked for some of the most successful and largest real estate companies in the city.

Jordyn is responsible for the facilities management of the Tauranga, Mount Maunganui, Auckland and Hastings assets, focusing on preventative maintenance, compliance and reactive maintenance while building strong relationships with tenants.

Jordyn brings experience to the Mackersy Property after working in commercial property management for a nationwide retail group in Melbourne. She holds a Bachelor of Communication degree and a Diploma in Project Management.

Drawing upon a wealth of administration, coordination, and accounting expertise developed through diverse roles within the building and construction sector, Patrice contributes significantly to our facilities management division. 

Her diligent work ethic, optimistic demeanour, and commitment to continuous learning have proven invaluable, enhancing our team's ability to deliver exceptional service to contractors and tenants alike. 

Capably handling extensive administrative duties and bolstering broader property operations, Patrice plays a pivotal role in ensuring seamless operations and client satisfaction.

With extensive experience as a Quantity Surveyor and heading Mackersy Property's Facilities Management team, Gwynn's role has evolved to take a strategic view of the management of Mackersy Property's assets. In addition, he takes a lead role in the fund-through construction projects that Mackersy Property undertakes. 

Gwynn’s role, supported by Mackersy Property’s growing national facilities management team, gives the company close oversight of maintenance and compliance requirements across the portfolio. This is crucial in order to ensure all assets are operating as efficiently as possible for their investor owners, as well as ensuring they remain compliant with all regulations. Gwynn and his team’s work manage the financial impact to owners by closely monitoring preventative maintenance and capital upgrades to properties.

Gwynn is a Building Surveyor, Project Manager and Quantity Surveyor who previously worked with Mackersy Property for over three years as an independent contractor. He brings a highly technical background in facilities management to the role.

Anita is responsible for the health and safety aspects of the Mackersy Property portfolio and the pastoral care and well-being of the Mackersy team.

Her role is crucial to Mackersy Property in overseeing 200 contractors working on Mackersy Property sites throughout the country. She is responsible for pre-qualification analysis and undertaking annual reviews to ensure that any person working on a Mackersy Property-managed site complies with health and safety regulations and is a leader in best-practice health and safety.

Anita is also responsible for providing advice and direction to the Facility team regarding building regulatory requirements, fire safety and accessibility regulations, along with Building Warrant of Fitness (BWOF) matters.

As a proud and committed member of the Queenstown Lakes community, Amy has worked hard to achieve great outcomes for the community through a variety of private and public sector organisations.

Amy has significant experience in engaging with a wide variety of community groups, businesses, government officials and volunteer organisations. Along with her professionalism and integrity, Amy understands the importance of collaboration and transparent communication, which makes her well-suited to support Mackersy Property’s CEO Hamish Wilton.

Amy holds a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Management and a Legal Executive Diploma, and serves on a number of community and regional organisations, committees and clubs.

Nick is Mackersy Property’s Chief Financial Officer. He oversees the activity of the nationwide finance team and maintains key relationships with banks and other professional services providers.

Prior to joining Mackersy Property, Nick worked for a New Zealand-based multi-national construction and development company, where he held a senior role in the corporate finance team. He has extensive experience in property asset management, financial management and accounting within the commercial property investment sector in the United Kingdom. 

Nick brings strong analytical and communication skills and commercial acumen to Mackersy Property.

Chartered Accountant Hannah Butt brings over ten years’ of experience in finance and accounting to her role of Property & Asset Management Accountant. 

With a broad background in auditing, property management, syndication and commercial property accounting, Hannah has worked in Australia and New Zealand before settling in Queenstown. 

Hannah holds a Bachelor of Commerce and a Bachelor of Property from The University of Auckland.

As part of the Mackersy Property finance team, Casey oversees the day-to-day accounting functions of a portfolio of syndicates and privately managed properties as well as assisting with the accounting function for Mackersy Property. Her role assists the Chief Financial Officer and Property Managers.

Casey holds a Bachelor of Commerce and is a registered Chartered Accountant, bringing external auditing knowledge and experience to her role.

Tracy is based in Mackersy Property's Christchurch office as a Systems Accountant within the Finance Team.

With over 25 years in finance, accounting and system implementations, Tracy prides herself in working collaboratively with team members and clients to seek continual improvement of systems and processes.

Tracy holds a Bachelor of Commerce and a Bachelor of Laws, and is a registered Chartered Accountant. Before joining Mackersy Property, she held a senior finance role in a large NZ healthcare provider and managed a property development company.

Highly motivated and proactive, Jo has considerable experience in Property Administration, Change Management, Sales and Accounts. 

Jo's skill and expertise make her valuable asset to Mackersy Property's Hamilton office and wider team. 

Managing the accounting and property administration for Mackersy Property’s North Island portfolio, Jo meets all tasks logically and pragmatically. Her proficiency in change management has been a huge advantage, ensuring a seamless transition of processes and systems.

With a passion for accounts administration and over six years experience in accounts payable, Tara’s organised and detailed approach ensures the accurate management of Mackersy Property’s monthly invoice processing. 

Continually seeking ways to improve processes and thinking outside the box, Tara’s effective communication and innovative outlook supports the finance team and wider company to meet monthly accounting deadlines.

Tara holds a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and a Certificate in Accounts Administration and Payroll.

Ely transitioned to Mackersy Property through a maternity leave contract, leveraging over a decade of expertise in management accounting. 

With a rich background in serving commercial property owners and investors, Ely seamlessly integrated into Mackersy Property’s finance department, collaborating closely with our team of accounting specialists. 

Proficient in liaising with asset, property and facilities managers, she diligently oversees the operational facets of our portfolio’s financial activities.

Mick provides expert financial modelling, debt structuring and treasury advice to Mackersy Property. His role forms a crucial part of the company’s property syndication business, including robust financial analysis of the tenants which occupy properties being considered for syndication. He also negotiates attractive funding packages for new and existing commercial property syndicates.

Mick brings ten years’ experience in the finance industry to Mackersy Property. His career encompasses commercial banking, private wealth, foreign exchange and international finance.

After graduating with a Bachelor of Counter Terrorism, Security and Intelligence, Jordy has held a number of positions in administration and customer service across Australia and New Zealand. 

Jordy was previously employed by Mackersy Legal (sold to Duncan Cotterill) as a Legal Secretary before she made the move to Mackersy Property in 2023. 

As an excellent communicator, Jordy’s skills in analytics, critical thinking and problem-solving well supports the company’s finance and treasury functions.

Anna joined Mackersy Property’s Christchurch office as an Executive Assistant responsible for Special Projects. Her talents with people have seen her grow to be Mackersy Property’s People and Culture Manager.

Anna provides operational support and advice to Mackersy Property’s various teams in employee relations, resourcing, compliance and employee development.

With offices in five separate locations, Anna’s management of Mackersy Property’s recruitment and HR functions ensures the teams are appropriately supported, a robust candidate selection process is in place, and all new team members enjoy a smooth induction into the business.

Anna’s commitment to learning and development sees her leading the company’s employee performance management programme to ensure the teams focus on continuous improvement, professional development plans and the achievement of set goals – their own, and Mackersy Property’s.

Anna has an extensive background in human resources, health and safety, business management and operations.

Colette is a seasoned corporate professional with extensive expertise in business, finance, and administration. 

With over two decades of experience spanning accounting, office management, finance, and administration roles in Australia, Colette has transitioned to Queenstown, where she efficiently oversees our bustling front reception and office operations. 

A poised communicator with a keen eye for detail, Colette excels in cultivating relationships and demonstrates a steadfast dedication to personal and professional growth.
