Mackersy Property Names New CEO

July 2022

Hamish Wilton

The last 18 months have been a busy time for Mackersy Property. With the merger of Mitchell Mackersy Lawyers and MHP, then the shift to purely focus on Mackersy Property in September 2020, the future is full of opportunity.

The acquisition in late 2021 of GBG Property (Hamilton) as Mackersy’s fifth office, now gives Mackersy Property professionals on the ground across New Zealand to support its investors and look for new opportunities.

As part of the drive to be the best for its team of investors, tenants and staff, Mackersy Property is pleased to announce that Director Hamish Wilton will fulfil the newly created role of Chief Executive. With more than 15 years’ experience as a commercial property, development and construction lawyer, and over 10 years with Mackersy Legal and Mackersy Property, Hamish will balance his new responsibilities with assisting the asset management team to manage assets across the portfolio.

“I am grateful to have been given this additional responsibility by the board of Mackersy Property.

I am proud of the relationships that we have with our investors and stakeholders, and I’m looking forward to bringing the strategic direction that we as directors talk about, into the operations and philosophies of the business.”

Board Chair Andy Evans said the decision is a positive and decisive step for the future of Mackersy Property.

“Hamish’s strategic, logical and client-centric approach will ensure that Mackersy Property’s investors, assets, and staff are well looked after. He is personable and genuinely cares for the people that he is involved with. This is a great way forward for the business, and I look forward to seeing him grow and mature in his new role.”

Hamish officially started in his new role in May 2022. One of his first forays in his new role is at Mackersy Property Investor functions, providing guest speakers and networking opportunities across New Zealand this year.
